At a glance
We may collect what you share with us, some details about how you use our Online Services, and what we need to provide the services you request. We generally use this information to operate, secure, and improve our services and to stay in touch with you. Your choices and rights depend on where you live and which services you use.
About this policy
"We," "us," and "our" refer to Advantage Boat Center, the business that operates the services you use (the "Operator"). "Online Services" means this website and its forms, portals, booking tools, account areas, and related services. Some parts of this policy apply only when a specific feature is available or a specific law applies to you. If another notice or applicable law gives you stronger protections, that notice or law controls.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services, technology, or legal requirements change. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above and aim to give additional notice or ask for consent where required.
How this fits with our Terms of Service
Our Terms of Service, along with any rental, membership, or facility rules, may also apply to you. Those documents cover reservations, payments, access, cancellations, and dispute handling. This policy covers how we handle personal information. If the two conflict on a privacy matter, this policy generally controls, to the extent the law allows.
Information we may collect
What we collect depends on how you use our services, which features are available, your choices, and applicable law. It may include:
- Contact and account information: name, email, mailing address, phone number, username, messages, reviews, and support requests, when you contact us, create an account, submit content, or request a service.
- Reservations and payments: reservations, rentals, memberships, selected services, dates, payment details, and confirmations, when you reserve, rent, buy, pay for, or manage a service.
- Property and access information: details about a storage space, parking spot, RV, vehicle, trailer, or boat, or about gate access, when relevant to a service or access feature.
- Information about other people: authorized users, occupants, or emergency contacts, when you provide or authorize their information.
- Device and usage information: IP address, device and browser details, pages viewed, cookies, approximate location, access logs, and security signals, when you browse or use the Online Services.
- Sensitive information: government identifiers, financial account details, precise location, or access credentials, only when needed for a service and permitted by law.
We may receive information directly from you, automatically through your use of our services, from our providers or partners, from public sources, or from someone connected to a service you request. If you share someone else's information with us, you should be authorized to do so.
How we use your information
- To provide and support the services you request, such as reservations, rentals, storage, parking, and access.
- To set up and manage accounts, process payments, answer questions, send service updates, and, where permitted, send marketing messages.
- To operate, secure, and improve our services, resolve problems, prevent fraud, investigate issues, and honor your privacy choices.
- To comply with the law, protect people and property, handle legal claims, or manage a business change such as a sale or merger.
How we share information
We may share personal information when reasonably needed to operate our services, follow your instructions, or meet legal or business needs. Recipients may include:
- Service providers and technology partners that help us operate the Online Services, such as our website host and the provider that delivers contact form submissions to us.
- Payment processors and partners involved in a service you request.
- Facility staff who need the information to provide or secure a service.
- Analytics or advertising providers, if those tools are enabled and permitted by law.
- Advisers, government authorities, parties to a business transaction, or others at your direction or with your consent.
Providers working for us may use information only as our agreements, our instructions, and the law allow. Some providers have their own privacy notices.
Text messages and mobile information
We do not share SMS or mobile information, such as your mobile number, text message opt-in, consent records, or related messaging details, with third parties or affiliates for their own purposes, including marketing or promotion. We share mobile information only with providers that send or support the messages you requested, or when required by law.
Cookies, tracking, and communications
- Our services may use cookies and similar tools, such as pixels, tags, SDKs, session replay, and link or URL details. These support core functions, preferences, analytics, security, personalization, or advertising, depending on the service and applicable law.
- Where the law requires consent for non-essential tools, we generally ask first.
- You may manage your choices through your browser or device settings.
- Where required, we aim to honor signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).
- We may send service messages and, where permitted, marketing messages. Marketing messages generally include a way to opt out where required.
- For text messages, you may reply "STOP" to opt out. Other help or opt-out options may also be available.
Payments, access, security, and retention
- Third-party payment providers, including our online tenant portal provider, typically handle payments under their own privacy notices.
- We may receive payment status, billing details, a partial card number, refund information, or confirmations. Payment storage practices can vary.
- We may use information to support reservations, storage, parking, RV, access, safety, or property needs. This may include vehicle, boat, trailer, emergency-contact, entry or exit, camera, license-plate, or location details, used only as needed and as the law allows.
- We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no online system is completely secure.
- We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for our services, records, dispute resolution, security, or legal compliance. The retention period depends on the type of information and the situation.
Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, applicable law, and how we use your information, you may have the right to:
- Access or know: ask what personal information we collect, use, or disclose.
- Correct or delete: ask us to correct or delete your information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
- Opt out or limit: opt out of certain targeted advertising, sale, sharing, or profiling, or limit uses of sensitive information, where applicable, using available settings, signals, or request methods.
- Object, restrict, or appeal: exercise other applicable rights, such as withdrawing consent or appealing a decision.
To make a request, email tabor@advantageboatcenter.com or write to us at 301 Atlanta Rd, Cumming, GA 30040. We may need to verify your identity, and the authority of any agent acting for you, before acting on a request. We aim to respond within the timeframes the law requires. If we handle your information only on behalf of another business, we may forward your request to that business. We do not intend to discriminate against anyone for exercising their privacy rights.
Children's privacy
Our services are not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information unless the law allows it with any required consent. If local law sets a different age or adds protections, we aim to follow it.
Automated tools and artificial intelligence
We may use automated tools or artificial intelligence to help route support requests, improve our services, understand usage, or detect fraud. If these tools use personal information, we aim to give additional notice or obtain consent where required. We generally do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects using automation alone, unless the law allows it and appropriate protections are in place.
Third-party services and links
Our services may link to or work with other companies' websites, apps, payment pages, booking systems, tenant portals, facility systems, or access systems. Those companies collect information under their own privacy notices, which you should review before using their services.
Region-specific disclosures and rights
Additional disclosures, rights, and choices may apply depending on where you live and which law applies to you.
California residents
If the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, you may be able to know or access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal information. You may also opt out of the sale or sharing of your information, including certain targeted advertising, limit certain uses of sensitive information, and receive equal service for exercising these rights. Use the contact options in this policy to make a request. We may need to verify your identity, and we honor signals such as GPC where the law requires. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16 without required authorization.
Residents of other U.S. states
Other state privacy laws may give you rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information, or to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, profiling, or certain automated decisions. Coverage, deadlines, and appeal processes vary by state. We aim to provide the rights your state's law provides.
EU and UK residents
Under the EU GDPR or UK GDPR, the Operator is generally the "controller" of information it uses for its own purposes. Your rights may include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, data portability, and withdrawal of consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Our legal bases vary by purpose:
- Contract: providing a service, reservation, rental, account, or payment you request.
- Legal obligation: keeping records or meeting legal requirements.
- Legitimate interests: running, securing, and improving our services, when those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: marketing, non-essential cookies, or anything else that requires or relies on your consent.
Where applicable, we aim to provide details about the controller, privacy contact methods, recipients of information, retention periods, international transfers, and any representative or data protection officer.
International transfers
Your information may be handled outside your home country, including in the United States. Where required, we aim to use recognized safeguards, such as an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or another approved mechanism.
